Something has gone horribly wrong!

Commission Information Check to see if I'm open for commissions
LiveStream Find out if I'm on my web cam

EDIT 2: It was AVG (the free virus scanning software) that did the update, not Windows.  I thought it was a Windows Update but now AVG is asking again and I remember the window and IT WAS THE CULPRIT :ohnoes:

EDIT 1: BUT IT MIGHT BE OKAY.

I ran the repair and it was way faster than it lead me to believe and things seem tobe okay now but I have no idea how long it will last. T____T  Going on LS now! [link]

ORIGINAL POST:
No, really.

My computer did a Windows Update and then it shat itself.  It's running some kind of repair right now.  I'm posting from the husband's Mac.

I was going to stream tonight but it looks like that's gone down the hole! :ohnoes:  It says the 'checking for problems' thing might take an hour or more.  Bummer.  Oh well, I just hope it's not dead forever.  I am going to draw still tonight so if you have an active commission with me and you really really want to see me work on it live, send me a note and I will put it aside for now.  Otherwise, I will be inking most of the night.  If I can get old Ginzuishou back up and running before it gets too late I will hop on. :D

:iconpoetesslaureate: won the auction for my Dark Mercury doll! :dummy:  I'm going to do some touchups on her before I ship so I will take some more pictures. :meow:

I really hope my computer isn't dead forever.  I think I did a backup of all my files a few weeks ago so I won't lose that much if it is dead forever.  All my chibi .psd files, ohno! And a few scans of some recent commissions would be lost.  I'm sure there's quite a few things but if they are lost and I don't remember what they are then I won't miss them, right? ^o^

Ah well, going to get to work now.  I will miss you guys tonight!

My computer did the SAME thing today. Thankfully, a repair worked for me too. AVG is now OFF of my computer and I'm running Microsoft Security Essentials.

Do you have an external hard drive?
After my last comp crash I was lucky enough to save my
hard drive but it was a real pain so I got an external one for the future. Best money I spent on CP hardware!

ive been having a weird issue with AVG myself - it only affects my internet - i guess i've got some sort of avg safety tool bar - and so sometimes, when i attempt to load a website (AND NOT AN AVG ONE) from scratch (as in, open my laptop and click) it tells me it cannot connect to AVG.com or some such which doesn't allow me to do ANYTHING on the net. so, then i run my spyware and virus checkers, and the issue goes away. it's happened twice so far...

Yeah it also installs that annoying Yahoo bar even when I tell it NOT to. I think I might switch :\

AVG is worthless. Try Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and is released by Microsoft themselves. It monitors your files live to prevent infection. The guys at the computer repair shop swear by it. Also, Malware bytes is a perfect backup plan.
