Ahhhh what can I say?! It was SUCH a good weekend! >3<
To my art alley friends who were using me as a scout for PCM: my reply to you is that it was TOTALLY AWESOME!
Let's see, I left on time Thursday but got stuck in traffic on 128 (so stupid! I should've taken 495, ugh!). That made me about 1/2 an hour late but it didn't really matter at all. The Art Alley staff was so cool and check in was a breeze. They even helped me unload my car and I was able to pull right up to the front door to unload! Set up went smoothly and since I was running a bit late I was concerned that 7PM would come too fast, but they let me linger a little longer and get things done. They also came around a lot to ask how things were, if we needed anything and asked for a whole bunch of feedback at the end. Very cool!
I stayed with *Allyson-x and her boy. They were such lovely hosts and fed me yummy foods and let me pet their cute kitty, Browser, and play with their bearded dragon, Weyland.
On Friday, it was busy busy! I met a lot of really nice new people and saw some familiar faces. My neighbors were SO great! On my right were Best Pest Studios. They were really friendly and fun and let me pretend to be part of their cool, friendly hangout for the weekend. ^_____^ On my left was Robin Gardella from Galleria Gardella. Being the bright lady she is (hehe) she bought a clip lamp with her to light up her table (the art alley room was pretty dark). I slightly benefited from the spillover light which was REALLY helpful when I had to draw chibi commissions!
Saturday and Sunday were slower, but having some down time means I got to make some stuff at the con (lots of dango/emotatama [France Mochi!], key chains, and a few little drawings - including a new filly!). Since I had no one else at the table with me, I also had a "BRB Potty Break" sign that I used all weekend (hahaha). Traffic was always flowing nicely through the isles. The space behind the table was good (I was against a wall, most artists were as it was a pretty small room) and the tables were really deep because there were 2 skinny tables put together. It was nice to have all the space behind my stuff to work on things (usually I only have a few inches) .
This one table I have determined was run by ninja. I never saw anyone there all weekend and then on Sunday morning the stuff was suddenly just GONE. I never saw them take it away. Ninja, I say. Ninja indeed.
The Maine Ghostbusters were there. They fed me donuts and candy bars. They also blew bubbles and inspected various cosplayers to see if they were supernatural. I met some really cool artists too like Sue Boisvert (I'm commissioning her for kitty amigurumi), ~hookedonchibis (who I've seen at lots of cons but maybe not talked to all that much) and ~skardash (who I'm internet stalking now >_>). I commissioned the latter for a Sailor Astera card and I also bought Rarity card from her that's SO pretty. >3< I also got to meet ~Vulpes-Rex who was SO COOL and she made me a super way cute Astera card that I love to bits. :3
This happened.
Table looked like this.
I really hope I can get in again next year! \ ^ 0 ^ / Time to start trying to catch up on all the stuff I owe people and PREP FOR OTAKON (32 DAYS)
