Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

2011 CONVENTIONS

Just a brief update on my convention plans.

I am going to be at Queen City Kamikaze Feb 19th with ~mimsy-girl. I will be holding a raffle to win a custom plush head and a raffle to win a full body color character commission. This is a one day con in Manchester, NH. Come by my table and say, "In the name of the Moon, give me a drawing!" and I will give you a free character pencil sketch!

I am confirmed at Anime Boston, April 22-24 with ~mimsy-girl and ~belovedseasons. They are still working on the Alley set up but as soon as I know where I am officially I will let you know! There are three plushies slots open for booking at AB and I will be doing a raffle for a full plushie of any character the winner chooses!

Animazement (May) and AnimeNEXT (June) are TBD for me in 2011.

SAILOR WARS?!

How many of you remember the "Sailor Wars" contest I used to hold on Sakura's Senshi Circle (now SailorAstera.com)? I got this bug in my brain to restart the Sailor Wars contest and now with the Groups platform DA offers it would be exceptionally easier than it was 10 years ago when I was coding each profile by hand.

But to make it happen, I need the group to be a Super Group so we can have polls and thumbnails! (Damn you DA!

) I've started a donation pool on my front page! If we can raise enough points for a Super Group I will open it and run it! If we don't reach the points and the campaign fizzles out, then I will donate the points to #crystal-starseeds which is also looking to become a super group.

A little more about Sailor Wars:
The way the contest works is that all the participants submit pictures and profiles of their fan characters. I will set up brackets of competition and senshi will be posted in one on one battles for a two week period. During the battle, people will vote on which character they think wins via a poll. They also have the opportunity to leave critique on the character's design and profile to help the creator improve. The senshi who win in their battles will advance to the next battle and continue to do so until there is one champion! I sure had a lot of fun running it back in the day and now that it would be so much easier I have a feeling we could really get going on it.
