HOWEVER, Samus was the first to NOT be a damsel in Distress. she was the first female character to stand on her own, to show that women can kick ass too.
and THAT is why most gamers, myself included, have a bit of a crush for Samus. she's not only hot, but she's a strong character, physically and emotionally. She's a character you want and can believe in.
